Sausage with Apples and Onions

1 tube (16 oz.) gluten-free sausage
2 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1 medium onion, sliced
sausage grease, butter, or other cooking oil
1/4 c. honey
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Peel and slice the onion. Cut slices in half.

Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples
Crumble and cook the sausage in a large skillet until done. Drain and reserve the grease.

Remove the drained sausage from the skillet, add a couple teaspoons of grease or oil of choice back into the skillet, and add the onions.

Sauté until onions are soft and lightly browned.

Add the apples and sauté until just soft.

Add the honey and stir to coat the apples and onions.

Add the sausage back to the skillet. Heat a few minutes until everything is hot.

Add salt and pepper.
